“The origins of the organization goes back to 1957 when a group of women card players, members of the Milton Home Bureau, met and decided to begin an organization that would provide for its members a place to meet and enjoy companionship, have recreation, entertainment, enjoy arts and crafts, and be of use to their community…” (Article History of the Ballston area senior citizens, researched by Anne Laskey and published in The Ballston Journal. In 1962 the BASC organized. In 2000, the organization incorporated to become Ballston Area Senior Citizens, Inc. (BASC), a non-profit Corporation.
All residents 55 years of age or older who live within Saratoga County in upstate New York are encouraged to join.
The mission of the Ballston Area Senior Citizens is to provide a quality-of-life enrichment opportunity and experience for Ballston Area Seniors members
Members of the Ballston Area Seniors meet for a pot-luck lunch, weekly, at the Town of Milton Community Center of Northline Road in Ballston Spa, New York, and participate in a wide variety of activities such as enjoyable day trips, festive dinners, hand-on sewing crafts, bingo, dancing, chorus singing, card playing, golfing, bowling, exercising, and other activities.
Please join us. The membership meets each Thursday at 9:30am for Social activities followed by a pot luck luncheon at noon, meeting, speakers, ending activities with Bingo around 2:00pm.
- Membership Application Forms are available at the weekly Thursday meeting at Milton Community Center, 310 Northline Road, Ballston Spa. Applications are accepted between the hours of 10:00 am thru 11:45 am and after the business meeting. Greeters will direct you to the Membership Table. Upon completion of paperwork, a Greeter will take the new member on a short tour of the facility and find a seat for the pot-luck luncheon.
- Dues are $10. Membership runs from January through December.
- A Membership Card and Welcome Packet will be provided upon registration.
- Our greeters will introduce you to other members and get you seated.
Bylaws and Standard Operating
BASC is governed by its own regulatory documents which define how the corporation functions. Members follow the provisions of the bylaws and standard operating procedures in conducting the business and operations of the organization.
